Football Queensland President Ben Richardson listed some impressive professional values on the CV he circulated prior to last month’s election for positions on the state governing body’s board of directors.

For his own salad for success, Richardson hit on ingredients that included: “Governance / Leadership, Energy & Perseverance, Business Change & Consultancy, Business Growth / Turnaround Operational Improvement…”.

These are all solid standalone words and while we can wonder what “Turnaround Operational Improvement” actually means (note to editor: no clue although a Richardson company is/was once called “Turnaround”) the really important thing that has been omitted from this ingredient list is ATTENTION TO DETAIL.

We say this because when using words, detail and interpretation are critical. Usually, Richardson knows this very well because as President of Football Queensland he has — along with Football Queensland CEO Robert Cavallucci — launched an almost $1 million claim for defamation against a small time niche publisher for a story that is factually correct.
